Re: Bullet in the Face on DVD

According to parcel tracking, my signed copy of BITF was delivered yesterday. Unfortunately, I'm on the wet coast, not at home.

Trust me. I'm only a little crazy.

Re: Bullet in the Face on DVD

Shout Factory turns out to be a bit of a disappointment, too.

Their original confirmation reads:
QTY Item
1 Bullet In The Face: The Complete Series - SIGNED by Alan Spencer Bullet In The Face DVD

When they shipped it, they said:

QTY Item
1 Bullet In The Face: The Complete Series - SIGNED by Alan Spencer Bullet In The Face DVD

If Alan Spencer signed this thing, it's in invisible ink. And the packing slip with it says simply Bullet In The Face DVD/Print, so I hope it's a DVD and not just a print of one.

Trust me. I'm only a little crazy.

Planning on raising a little Hotel Echo Double Hockeysticks with Shout Factory first ...

Trust me. I'm only a little crazy.

Re: Bullet in the Face on DVD

Shout factory has proven to be exactly the sort of stand up guys Alan Spenser has said they are. I sent them an email this morning and have already received a response.
Real glad to get the quick response. Alan signed a separate DVD case sleeve which was sent in a plain grey cardboard protector. The protector is supposed to have a sticker on it advising that there is a special enclosure from Shout Factory inside. The sticker was missing, making the "protector" look like a cardboard stiffener that is often in such shipments to protect against bending/breaking in transit. I retrieved it from our recycle bin, opened it and found the promised enclosure.

YESS!! (double pump)

Trust me. I'm only a little crazy.

Quick Draw,

Most gratifying to hear you got your autograph. You should watch the episodes and then listen to Alan's commentaries. Let us know what you think.

@MrAlanSpencer Havent had the opportunity, though I would LOVE to. Perhaps I can ask my editor over at @SpoilerTV. We shall see, no promises

Re: Bullet in the Face on DVD

I put the DVD on one day last week and watched all six episodes over the course of maybe 4 hours. It probably qualifies as an overdose. My overall impression is of being treated to a 3 hour monologue by Alan Spenser.

Trust me. I'm only a little crazy.

Re: Bullet in the Face on DVD

Keeping in mind that this is the first time I've seen the show:
First, I watched the entire series over about four hours ... now that I've listened to the commentary for the first episode, I guess this might qualify as what Alan refers to a "binge watching". The second thing that I noticed is that Max William's portrayal of Gunter Vogler reminds me of "The Riddler" - and this is mentioned in Alan's commentary, so I'm not alone.

Trust me. I'm only a little crazy.

Quick Draw,

Did you like Bullet in the Face? I did.

Having watched Bullet in the Face, it seems that if Alan Spencer ever did do another Sledge Hammer! movie or TV show, it would be really good.

Re: Bullet in the Face on DVD

I won't claim to have exactly "aced" my English 30 class, but ...
I am pretty sure during the jewellery shop robbery that I saw Alan (symbolically) "kill off" Sledge and then have him "resurrected' as Gunter Vogler ...

I was prepared for more violence actually, and probably worse language (think back to the original HBO script for Sledge Hammer! and then add 30 years of desensitization). Alan's complete mockery of everything held dear by someone or other is amusing.

Trust me. I'm only a little crazy.
